Modern KurbitsBeing abroad can make you a bit homesick. To feel more connected to home I reinterpreted a traditional Swedish folk art called Kurbits in 4 illustrations. Portraying nature’s flourishing form is characteristic to Kurbits paintings. So I created four different kurbits illustrations; one for each season of the year, drawing from the changes in nature. SpringSpringtime is a season of colors and an awakening of nature. I tried to capture this with a pattern where the flowers and berries leap towards the skies to spread their bright colors. SummerThe kurbits pattern for Summer is inspired by the bright and sunny colors of the season. FallFall is a season of beautiful colors and a change of scenery in nature. Flowers go darker and mushrooms and berries take their place. This kurbits pattern continues the shapes of the previous ones, but with new motives. WinterAs the Winter season starts the flowers are gone and the colors have changed. But it's a very beautiful season nonetheless with its own unique elements.
